I’m really excited about the idea of a personalized healthcare application that puts patients and doctors on the same team.
Currently, patient, provider and payer are all working a little bit against each other. We’ve seen a sharp decline of trust in physicians and hospitals and rising numbers of network battles between payer and provider. Right now the current system leaves patients and providers both feeling shortchanged, but most importantly, health outcomes are suffering.
Patient-facing solutions must take into account how the current system works. It must consider who holds medical liability, how services and treatments are paid for, and what procedures could even be more harmful than good. It is the provider that is representing all of these system inputs, and whom must be actively included in a patient’s health journey. It is going to be more important than ever for patients to work collaboratively with a doctor whom they trust and who can collaborate with the patient’s inevitable AI guidance.
